The disappearance of the snow brought footfall back to the Shrewsbury and Telford showrooms of William A. Lewis Toyota.
As a result, the increased footfall has led to an upsurge in enquiry levels, particularly for the new 11 plate coming out on March 1.
“The combination of the new registration plate and new line-up of Toyota cars for 2011 has seen demand spiral,” said William A. Lewis Toyoto senior salesman Carl Jenks.
He said the facelift of the Aygo Go and Yaris T Spirit and the introduction of the new Verso S had brought a lot of customer interest.
The amount of interest had persuaded both of our Toyota dealerships to open their showroom doors on February 28 for customers to pick up their new car at midnight.
“With lead times of between three and four weeks on some of the more popular models, people are placing orders now to secure a March 1 delivery date,” said Carl.
“Last year’s midnight handover in Telford was a great success and there was a fabulous atmosphere in the showroom on the night. We have therefore decided to repeat the midnight handover in Telford and introduce it in Shrewsbury for the first time.
“It works well for a lot of people who want to be among the first on the county’s roads with their brand new car. Then there are those customers who can’t take time out of busy schedules to collect their new car during the day.”
He added that there would be a prize draw as well as flowers and wine for the midnight customers to celebrate at home.
