We couldn’t allow Shrewsbury Town Football Club’s successful start to the season to be derailed because of the freezing weather.
When Mervyn Hughes, dealer principal of William A. Lewis Nissan was asked if he could help manager Graham Turner get home from work, he had no hesitation in coming to the rescue.
Mr. Turner had found roads to his rural home impossible to negotiate and the club asked William A. Lewis Nissan if they could provide theShrewsbury boss with a 4 wheel drive vehicle.
Mr. Hughes takes up the story: “We had a new Juke 1.6 DIG-T 4 wheel drive vehicle which we were delighted to loan to Mr. Turner to ensure he could get between home and work despite the big freeze.
“He came to our dealership inTelford to pick up the car and has since been very complementary about its performance. He described the Juke as very nimble and he liked its drive as well as its style.
“We were very interested to get his thoughts on the car because there will be a lot more Jukes in the Shrewsbury area when we open our new showroom at Featherbed Lane next February when hopefully Shrewsbury are in the play off places.
“The Juke we loaned Mr. Turner for over a week was metallic grey – in keeping with the weather - but we can find him a blue one to celebrateShrewsbury ’s promotion if he chooses to make a purchase.”
A spokesperson forShrewsbury Town said the manager had been ‘delighted and most grateful’ to have the loan of the Juke during the recent bad weather.
