Construction of the William A Lewis Nissan showroom, adjacent to their Renault building, is expected to be completed in early January 2011. The seven car showroom will see the return to Shrewsbury of a William A Lewis Nissan dealership after a gap of six
years.
Said David Smith, managing director of William A Lewis Motor Group: “Although the economic climate is not as buoyant as we would like, William A Lewis has seen considerable growth in the last few years. “We see the development of Nissan in Shrewsbury as complementary to our already successful Nissan business in
Telford. “The development is also linked to the launch of Nissan’s new Juke, the only small car crossover in the world, which is set to take the market by storm. “And we look forward to welcoming existing Nissan owners as well as those who haven’t previously considered the Nissan experience.”
Mervyn Hughes, who will be dealer principal of the new Nissan showroom, said it would deliver the same high standards of customer service as had been achieved in Telford over the past seven years. “It will represent an excellent opportunity to serve the Shrewsbury area even better and we are really excited at the potential.
“It is a natural progression to move into Shrewsbury and make it more convenient for customers who live over that way. I am looking forward to the prospect of opening the new business in Featherbed Lane early next year and welcoming customers old and new to our new facility.
“With all the new Nissan models available I am confident Shrewsbury is going to be a great success.” He added that a number of new jobs would be created with the opening of the new dealership.
